On our way to and from school we pass a donut shop called Alex’s Donuts on Franklin Avenue. It’s set back in a mini mall next to an auto repair shop, a liquor store and a take away Thai place. In the window is a large sign that reads ‘Best Donuts in Town’. Minty read this aloud and then the Food Dude in her pondered – “Do you really think they are the best donuts in town?”
And so began her mission – to find the best donut.
My thinking is the best donut is probably one we make together at home so I’m in search of a great recipe… and is there any such thing as a healthy donut?
